Flávio Ferreira received his Ph.D. (in 2000) in Applied Mathematics at Porto University, Portugal. Flávio Ferreira is the Dean of the School of Hospitality and Management (ESHT) of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, since 2016. From 2009 to 2016, he was the Dean of the School Industrial and Management Studies (ESEIG) of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. He teaches at Polytechnic Institute of Porto since 1992, being coordinator professor since 2016. He is co-author of 3 books. He participated in several research projects, published more than 80 research papers and gave more than 60 communications in international scientific conferences, some of them as invited speaker. He was co-organizer of several symposia within international conferences, and he is reviewer of several scientific journals. He has held short-term visiting appointments at the foreign universities: (7 universities at Spain, 2 at Romenia, 2 at Croatia, 1 at Italy, 1 at Lithuania and 1 at Malta).
